Huangshan (After Liu Haisu)

This is a landscape for my parents' who had a large wall space they wanted to fill with large paintings from my sister and I. They wanted a mountainscape of Huang Shan, Yellow Mountain, one of the famous scenic spots of China especially known for ethereal scenes where you see the tall peaks rising up through a sea of clouds. The tree in the foreground is actually a specific tree, known as Yinke Song, Welcoming Pine, also a famous landmark of Huang Shan.
The scene was assembled, I am not particularly confident in my compositional skills for landscapes. So I used Liu Haisu's traditional Chinese brush painting (below) as a guide to plan this painting.
